Report: CHRIS CORNELL Under Siege from Stalkers

October 11, 2006

SFGate.com reports that AUDIOSLAVE frontman Chris Cornell has been forced to install state-of-the-art security at his Beverly Hills mansion after being plagued with horrific death threats against his family.

Cornell, his French wife, Vicky, and their two young children are fearing for their lives after the string of terrifying threats.

The rocker is taking the situation so seriously he's splashed out on a $250,000 high-tech security system to protect them. It reportedly includes more than 40 video cameras, invisible laser beams and 24-hour security guards.

A friend tells the New York Post, "The threats started coming in 2004, when Vicky was six months into her pregnancy with Toni. They usually come by e-mail or by regular mail and are explicit, referring to killing the children and Vicky and exactly how they plan on killing them.

"It's disgusting and terrifying. These people know where they live and how to get hold of them."

The pal adds the threats escalated recently, after confirmation Cornell was to record the theme song for latest James Bond movie, "Casino Royale".
